Obituary of Bruce J. Littlejohn

Bruce J. Littlejohn

Victor - Bruce J. Littlejohn, 65, sports fan, athlete, educator, world traveler, brother, friend to all – passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 23, 2020.

He is predeceased by his mother Josephine (Marrapese) Littlejohn and his father, Roy M. Littlejohn. Bruce is survived by his brother Rod Littlejohn, DDS, of Victor NY, his twin sister Brenda (Denny) Peel of Bradenton, Fl. as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces, many cousins, a plethora of loving friends and neighbors, and Finnegan.

A native of Seneca Falls, NY, Bruce graduated from Mynderse Academy, Ithaca College and Elmira College. Bruce began his teaching career in the Gananda School District where he worked for 4 years. Then, in 1985, he began 26 years as a physical education teacher and coach in the Pittsford Central School District. He was passionate and energetic about his role and his optimistic influence was evident. Through the years many of his former students contacted him to express the positive difference he had made in their life. Bruce would often comment that this was one of the greatest gifts of his career.

Anyone knowing Bruce also knew that he was possessed with the love of travel. He conquered all 7 continents, visited over 100 countries, made a multitude of global friends, and left his heart of gold wherever he travelled.

When we think of Bruce, we know a man who steps into a room and lights it up! He had a charismatic personality and an adventurous spirit; he was good natured, and kind and he so loved his family. He will be forever in our hearts.

Seemingly for Bruce, T.S. Eliot once wrote: “We shall not cease from exploration. And the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we began and to know the place for the first time.”

A Memorial Service will be planned in the future.
