Obituary of Roberta J. Zerrahn

Roberta Hayes Zerrahn Roberta J. Zerrahn, 62, of Farmington, NY, died Thursday, May 27, 2010, surrounded by her family at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. She was born April 20, 1948, in Syracuse, NY to Carl and Dolores Hayes. Roberta attended grammar school at Our Lady of Lourdes, high school at St. John the Evangelist in Syracuse and graduated from SUNY Oswego in 1970. She worked as a librarian over the years at Mexico Academy, Gorham Free Library and Red Jacket Community Library, while raising her family. Roberta recently became an active participant in Second Life and published works involving virtual worlds. Her interests included baking, sewing, quilting, reading, genealogy and spending time with her cats and grand-puppies. She was an active member of the church and local historical society. Roberta was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Dolores and brother, James. She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Christie Hillebrant and Joanne and Joshua Haremza; siblings and spouses, John Kevin and Mary Hayes, Nancy and Ralph Cinnamon, Robert and Judy Hayes, Patrick and Christine Hayes and Douglas Hayes; grandchildren; Jefferson Davis Russell and Robert Lee Russell; nieces and nephews, Jeffrey, Emily, Stacey, Eric, Andrea, Brian, Jamie, Daniel, Amanda, Whitney, Jakob, Aaron, Patrick and Stephen. Friends may call Friday evening (today) 6-8 at Lucey-VanVoorhis Funeral Home, 301 West Main Street, Victor. A graveside service will take place Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse.
