Obituary of James William Flora

James W. Flora Sr. passed away suddenly Tuesday December 25, 2018 at the age of 86. He is survived by his adoring wife of 66 years, Barbara A. Flora. Daughters, Lorene (Scott) Benson, Michele (Jeffery) Faunce, and Kimberly Flora. Sons, James W. (Colleen) Flora Jr., Mark (Michelle) Flora and Wayne (Betsy) Flora. Grandchildren, Jacob (Tracy) Faunce, Scott (Erin) Benson, Kyle Faunce, Bryon (Jessica) Flora, Vanessa (Nick Testa) Goodwin, Helana (Michael) Brasley, Devon (Jessie) Flora, Teagan Flora, James Donald Flora and Antonio Flora. Seven great grandchildren, Kofi, Grant, Ari, Ruby, Sophia, Stella and Enzo. Brother, Jack (Peg) Flora, Sister in law, Carol A. Scavone and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, John and Louise Flora, daughter, Deborah Flora and granddaughter Phaelyn Koch. Jim served during the Korean conflict and remained active in local VA organizations. Jim’s legacy is one of enormous measure as the life he led was one of family, adventure, hilarity and hard work. He was well loved by all who knew him. Our Big Jim, Buddha, and most importantly Papa, will be dearly missed. 

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday (12/28/18) from 3-7 PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services of Victor (301 West Main Street, Victor, NY). His Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday (12/29/18) at 10 AM at St. Patrick’s Church (115 Maple Ave., Victor, NY). Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
